Guidelines to a Great Resume...
Nothing will impact your job search more than your
resume. It must be exceptional.

resumes are sunk from the
start.

not to put in your resume.
*Avoid
wasting valuable job
searching time on the
plethora of supposed free
resume help and advice
websites.
*Be certain
that your resume is
appropriate for the position
you are seeking.
*Based on the job, think about what the hiring manager
would want and need.
*Position your bullets correctly and word them
appropriately. (white space)
*Use standard fonts including an appropriate size.
*Be neat and error free. The smallest of errors can
change the hiring manager's perception of you.
*Do not make your resume too short or too long.
There is a correct length.
*Use action verbs, but do not overdo it.
*Use words that show an extensive vocabulary. Do
not misuse a word.
*Use your summary to really grab the attention of the
reader.
*State a specific objective and how it will benefit the
employer.
*Word your objective in such a way as to not be excluded from
positions.
*Do not include why you are no longer with a previous
employer.
*Avoid personal pronouns or referring to yourself by
using your own name.
*Use keywords and buzzwords. Avoid ambiguity.

responsibilities.

employer's business.

positions.

*If entry level, package your resume to make you look
experienced.

*Do not rely on friends or family for an objective review
or suggestions.

We have seen thousands
of resumes. It is very
rare when one is
exceptional. Anything
less than exceptional is
a disservice to
yourself. It will make
an enormous impact on
your job search and how
many options you have.
